Today's launch of Chiltern Mainline has been accompanied by much marketing activity in Birmingham. The Metro had a four page wrapround, and leafleters were out in force in Birmingham city centre. The main thrust of the promotion is a "Try us for £1" offer redeemable through onepoundpromotion.co.uk (Metro) or mainlineforapound.co.uk (leaflet). The offer lasts until 19th September, and, as at Monday lunchtime, there was generous availability of the £1 tickets... However, unlike the LondonMidland promotion, these are Advance tickets which can only be used on the booked trains.
Even so, worth a shot!
